A fish pass is located a short way downstream from Burniston Road bridge. It was built by Scalby Beck Angling Club. It was intended to be the first stage of a failed project to allow salmon and sea trout to access Burniston Beck.

It now serves only as a danger to canoeists and swimmers. No signs have been erected by the club warning of the dangers or any other safety precautions taken.
