Rambling on Scalby Beck
Rambling is a very healthy, safe and enjoyable activity and there is no better place to ramble than Scalby Beck. Half an hour of brisk walking, or cycling each day will help prevent heart disease, keep weight down and improve your mental health.
The banks of Scalby Beck are covered with grass and wild flowers. The towpath on both banks are a public right of way for walkers, typically flat and perfect for a country walk. Wildlife abounds with herons, kingfishers, otters, badgers and roe deer often on show along with the occasional rising trout. Refreshments can be taken at various places including the Everley Cafe, The Rosette pub, Daisy’s tea rooms or The Scalby Mills pub (situated) near the estuary.
